Portugal feels like home

Portugal stands out consecutively each year on the Expat Insider 2022 survey, having ranked 4^th this year, out of 52 destinations, as the world’s best country for Expats who mainly «enjoy the high quality of life, find it easy to settle in, and are happy with their personal finances in Portugal».

According to the same survey, Portugal also appears in 4^th position in the Quality of Life Index. Therefore, Expats move to Portugal looking for a better quality of life and that is the most common reason for relocating here. Other factors are the climate and the good weather, the air quality, good leisure option and opportunities for recreational sports.

The Expat Insider 2022 also highlights that Expats find the country «easy and safe to get around on foot and/or by bicycle», they also «feel that they can openly express themselves and their opinions» and when asked “what they like most about life in Portugal, they mention the good environment, the mild climate and the peaceful life.

Portuguese people welcome Expats with open arms and are referred to as kind and friendly to the international community that has settled in this country, making them feel at home only a short time after their arrival. According to his survey, Expats also «find it easy to make local friends and are happy with their social life» in Portugal.

Perhaps this is the main reason as to why Portugal feels like home.
