According to a recent study, Portugal's Alentejo region has been ranked as the 12th best wine destination in the world, and we are thrilled to share this news with you.

Luxury travel brand CV Villas has released a report revealing the world's best wine destinations for oenophiles, based on wine ratings from Vivino, the world's largest wine marketplace and review website. The analysis explores wine tourism, an industry that has gained traction with a 72% jump in Google searches for wine holidays and vineyard tours in just a year.

Champagne, France tops the list as the best destination for wine lovers to indulge in sparkling wine, with the highest-rated bottles worldwide produced in this region. CV Villas' General Manager, Pete Brudenell, stated: “We wanted to show people how many other locations around the world are also producing great quality tipples whilst offering stunning scenery, too. If you are looking to take yourself on a wine holiday or want to book a vineyard tour for your next trip, be sure to look at the likes of Portugal, Spain and Greece, too."
